Hong Kong is preparing to redefine the future of integrated travel, tourism and marine leisure with the development of SKYTOPIA, a visionary mega-project led by the Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK).

A Transport Hub Transformation
Designed to transform one of Asia’s busiest transport hubs into the region’s leading leisure marine destination, SKYTOPIA represents a bold step forward in connecting air, land and sea networks within the Greater Bay Area.
As part of the development, a dedicated Yacht Bay and a range of water-themed attractions are planned, creating new opportunities for marine tourism, waterfront recreation and international investment. The project aims to strengthen Hong Kong’s position as a key regional transport and lifestyle hub, serving the rapidly growing economic zone of the Greater Bay Area.
ICOMIA’s APAC Representative on the Ground
Su Lin Cheah, ICOMIA APAC Representative, recently visited the SKYTOPIA Brand Center, where she was welcomed by Jasmine Kong, Assistant General Manager, Land & Property Development at Airport Authority Hong Kong.
The visit included an immersive presentation showcasing the scale and ambition of the project, followed by a detailed briefing and site overview of infrastructure works already completed or nearing completion. These include elevated roads and bridgeways designed to support future smart transit systems and autonomous vehicle networks, alongside major retail developments, visitor facilities and emerging marine precincts.
A World Class Destination for Hong Kong
The progress already visible on the ground demonstrates AAHK’s commitment to delivering a world-class destination that seamlessly integrates transportation, commerce, tourism and marine leisure.
In a significant next step, AAHK has issued an Expression of Interest (EOI), inviting international developers, investors and operators to submit proposals for the Yacht Bay and associated water-themed developments.

The initiative presents a unique opportunity for the global marine industry to participate in one of Asia’s most ambitious waterfront projects and help shape the future of leisure marine experiences in the region.
