EURMIG TECHNICAL NOTE: Two EU directives (Noise at Work 2003/10/EC and Vibration at Work 2002/44/EC), both parts of the so-called Physical Agents Directives were implemented in national legislation in 2008 and 2007 (three years after being published). Member states can introduce or keep regulations that give even better protection but, conversely, existing domestic regulations that better those of the new directives cannot be relaxed.
