Triumph for the third edition of `Workshop on New Technologies`

The ICOMIA and European Boatbuilder Magazine collaboration ‘Workshop on New Technologies’ was held on Wednesday 16 November at METS for the third year running.
“It was a great success and the topics chosen proved to attract a large audience, said Udo Kleinitz, Technical Manager for ICOMIA.

“I am grateful for the availability of our speakers who made an effort coming especially for this event from Brazil, Finland, the US and UK.”
The workshop, which was attended by around 70 delegates, included highlights such as feature naval architect Gerard Dykstra presenting his vision of “Future Boat Design” and Brazilian marine industry association ACOBAR’s Jorge Nasseh speaking about the highly topical “Boatbuilding Regulations/Standards in Brazil”.
The free workshop is tailored for boat builders operating internationally and those who self-certify their boats but anyone interested was encouraged to attend. Next ‘Workshop on New Technologies’ will be held at METS 2012.
