ICOMIA formally invite you to tender for the hosting of the ICOMIA World Marinas Conference 2029. 

A Bi-Annual Conference of Significant Delegates & Speakers

The ICOMIA World Marinas Conference is organised by the ICOMIA Marinas Group (IMG). 

Held bi-annually, the conference is aimed at marina owners, operators, developers, consultants, service providers, government officials, equipment manufacturers, nautical tourism promoters, port and harbour operators. It draws significant audiences of delegates and speakers from around the globe. 650 plus delegates participated in Vence 2025. 

The conferences are highly informative and relevant to global market trends, whilst the extensive networking opportunities are invaluable for ongoing business success. The vast array of exhibits offers insight into the very latest in marina product development and technology.

In keeping with its global perspective, the ICOMIA World Marinas Conference (IWMC) has been presented in the following:

Tender Requirements 

Parties interested in hosting the 2029 IWMC should contact louise@icomia.com in the first instance for a copy of the Bid Information Package, which outlines the relationship between the appointed conference host and ICOMIA. Please note that hosts must be members of the ICOMIA Marinas Group at the time of the conference. 

Appointment Process

The following process will be applied to appoint the 2029 IWMC host: 

Friday 6 November 2026 – application for tender bids closes. All tenders must be received by louise@icomia.com by end of day. Submissions will then be forwarded to the ICOMIA Marinas Group (IMG). 

Metstrade 2026 – tendering parties will be asked to present their bid to the IMG meeting on 17 November 2026. IMG will then make a recommendation to the ICOMIA Board of Directors. 

Confirming the 2029 ICOMIA World Marinas Conference – host is subject to the signed agreement between ICOMIA and the appointed host no later than 28 days following the announcement of the successful bidder. 

ICOMIA World Marinas Conference, Shanghai, 30 March – 2nd April 2027 – the new host will be announced at the end of the 2027 IWMC with a formal handover ceremony. 

Tender bids should be submitted in PowerPoint format, limited to ten slides. Applying hosts will be asked to pitch their bid during a 10-minute slot at the Metstrade 2026 IMG meeting. 

Necessary Proposal Information

Proposals should include the following information: 

  • Information about the applying organisation (name, city and country) 
  • Proposed venue and date of event 
  • Initial budget including sponsorship and delegate fees 
  • Detail on global and local marketing efforts in promoting the conference 
  • A strategy to ensure a broad local and international audience is present, consisting of authorities, marina operators and suppliers 
  • If applicable, the proposed conference organiser 
  • Outline of support from local, regional and international organisations. These could be associations, authorities, media and providers of accommodation 

Deadline

The deadline for applications is 6 November 2026.
