About the committee

Shaping the future of recreational marine propulsion.

Formed in 1972, the ICOMIA Marine Engine Committee (IMEC) is a separate trade association representing recreational marine engine and personal watercraft manufacturers worldwide.

IMEC monitors emissions and substances regulations — including EU engine exhaust emissions under the Recreational Craft Directive, and evolving changes to substances under REACH, TSCA and other global regulatory bodies.

Through collective expertise, technical working groups and proactive advocacy, IMEC continues to be a leading force shaping the future of the sector — facilitating knowledge-sharing, collaboration and industry-wide standards.
