It is with great sadness that ICOMIA has learned of the passing of former ICOMIA Vice Chairman and former British Marine President, David Lewin. David’s wife, Melanie Lewin, posted the news to LinkedIn.
David passed away peacefully over the weekend following a courageous battle with illness.
David made a significant contribution to the global recreational marine industry through his leadership within both ICOMIA and BMF. David was Vice President of ICOMIA from 2002 to 2007. He was a passionate advocate for the sector and dedicated much of his time to supporting the industry’s continued growth and international collaboration.
Beyond his professional achievements, David was deeply valued for his warmth, generosity and friendship.

Our thoughts are with David’s wife, his family, friends and all those who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside him during this difficult time.
David will be greatly missed, and his contribution to the marine industry will be remembered with gratitude and respect.
