The boatbuilding community may wish to apply the draft standards’ requirements to existing designs and submit any final feedback to the Working Group through the site, although FDIS only permits limited editorial changes. In order to keep boat builders and yacht designers informed about new standards’ projects, ICOMIA maintains an online discussion site where new draft standards can be studied and discussed. Recent projects have included the revision of the Stability standard series (ISO 12217 parts 1-3) and the draft for the Final Draft International Standard of ISO 12215-9 (keel scantlings). The draft keel scantlings standard has now been submitted for the final vote in the ISO balloting system and concurrently has been uploaded on ICOMIA’s online discussion website.
The boatbuilding community may wish to apply the draft standards’ requirements to existing designs and submit any final feedback to the Working Group through the site, although FDIS only permits limited editorial changes. The closure of the vote is expected by December 2010. Interested parties can receive access to the draft standard, discussions and registration details for the website by sending a request to info@icomia.com. All comments will be posted on the website and circulated via e-mail allowing all users to read them. The Working Group Convenor, Gregoire Dolto, and other Working Group members may reply to comments if necessary.
