Mr Ron Stone awarded ICOMIA Honorary Membership

Mr Stone was presented with his certificate at the ICOMIA/IFBSO Congress in Chicago at the ICOMIA AGM on 12 June. Mr Stone retired from the marine industry last year. He had a long and distinguished career with NMMA as its Director of Government Affaris, opening its Washington office in late 1980s and successfully promoting a number of measures beneficial to the US boating industry. The ICOMIA Boating Facilities was formed in 1991 with Mr Stone as its Secretary and he became its Chairman in 1997. With the introduction of the 3-yearly Marinas Conferences that he ably led and the IMC Committee meetings with many meeting venues, Mr Stone has been a tireless promoter of the importance of marinas to the boating industry and after serving us so well the award of Honorary Membership was an expression of our gratitude for his service to the global industry.
