NZ Marine Industry Association CEO Peter Busfield is set to Transition to 2026 Retirement.

After more than three decades of leadership, Peter Busfield, Chief Executive Officer of NZ Marine Industry Association, has announced his intention to retire. His official retirement date is 31 March 2026, although he will continue to serve on a contractual basis through the remainder of that year.

NZ Marine Industry Association Stewardship

Under Busfield’s stewardship, NZ Marine has become a respected voice and driving force for the boating, shipbuilding, superyacht, and related marine sectors across New Zealand. His long tenure has seen the industry navigate economic cycles, regulatory shifts, and increasing global competition. Colleagues credit him with helping to build resilience, promote innovation, and strengthen international connections for New Zealand marine exporters.
