M3 Smart and Sustainable Marinas Conference 2025, held ahead of the Monaco Yacht Show 2025, is something ICOMIA’s CEO Joe Lynch was delighted to be a part of. Joe reports from the event below.
Our long-standing members, M3—leaders in marina design, build, and consultancy services—once again brought together industry experts with the support of the iconic Yacht Club de Monaco.

A Clear Focus
As its name suggests, the conference maintained a clear focus on two critical areas of marina development:
- SMART marinas: Harnessing the latest digital and AI technologies to collect, analyse, and apply data to enhance marina operations. The emphasis is on improving safety, profitability, and—most importantly—creating a seamless and rewarding customer experience.
- Sustainable marinas: Exploring all facets of sustainable practice, from design and construction methods to material choices, ecosystem preservation and restoration, and day-to-day operational standards.

Innovation & Forward Thinking
A hallmark of this event continues to be the spotlight it shines on start-ups and scale-ups, offering them a platform to showcase innovative products, services, and designs. This year’s presentations once again inspired the audience and highlighted the forward-thinking energy that is shaping the future of our industry. The awards given to standout innovations were a fitting recognition of the talent and creativity present.
ICOMIA Members On the Ground at the M3 Smart and Sustainable Marinas Conference
It was encouraging to see so many ICOMIA members attending and actively contributing to discussions, underlining the strength and engagement of our global community. The sense of anticipation was also palpable as delegates looked ahead to the ICOMIA World Marinas Conference in Venice next month.

On behalf of ICOMIA, I extend our thanks to M3 for their continued leadership and to the Yacht Club de Monaco for their generous hospitality. This conference remains a vital platform for dialogue, collaboration, and innovation in marina development.
