A Major Milestone for ICOMIA
In 2026, ICOMIA will celebrate a major milestone: 60 years of representing and supporting the global recreational marine industry.
Since its founding in 1966, the association has worked at the heart of international boating, bringing together national marine associations, helping to shape policy, supporting sustainability, and helping the industry navigate decades of change, innovation, and growth.

A Constant & Trusted Voice
Over six decades, the world of boating has evolved dramatically — from changes in design and technology to shifting consumer trends, environmental priorities, and global collaboration.
Throughout it all, ICOMIA has remained a constant: a trusted voice for the industry, a connector of people and ideas, and a platform for collective progress.
ICOMIA 60 Years Content Development
To mark this anniversary, a special piece of celebratory content is being prepared that will reflect not just the organisation’s history, but the people, moments, and memories that have defined it.
This content is currently in development and will be released in the coming months as part of the 60-year celebrations.
An Invite to You
As part of this project, the association is inviting members, partners, and the wider marine community to get involved. If you have photos, videos, stories, comments, or personal anecdotes connected to your experiences — whether from events, working groups, meetings, milestones, or behind-the-scenes moments — we would love to hear from you. Contributions can be historical or recent, formal or informal, big moments or small memories.
All shared material will help bring the story of ICOMIA’s 60 years to life and showcase the people and passion behind the organisation.
If you have something you’d be happy to share, please contact us directly. Together, we can celebrate six decades of collaboration — and look ahead to the future of the global recreational marine industry.
