The Chamber of Marine Industry Sri Lanka (CMISL) – Focused on Improving the Sri Lankan Marine Industry
The Chamber of Marine Industry Sri Lanka (CMISL) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to fostering a favourable business climate for the Sri Lankan marine industry.
We aim to create and expand business opportunities in new markets through the dynamic internationalisation of the marine sector. By actively integrating into the global economy and improving the institutional and regulatory environment, CMISL facilitates constructive business and government dialogue. Our efforts ultimately provide advanced technology and services to our members, ensuring sustainable growth and innovation within the industry.

Dedicated Committees
The growth of yachting/nautical activities is hampered due to a lack of infrastructure facilities such as manufacturing (especially vessels over 20M), berthing (anchorages/marinas), launching and testing (slipways/launching pads) and dock facilities for repairing purposes.
Our dedicated committees drive CMISL’s mission forward, fostering innovation, collaboration, and growth within Sri Lanka’s marine industry. Comprised of industry experts and leaders, these committees ensure we achieve excellence and sustain progress through strategic initiatives and dynamic partnerships.
MR Indhra Kaushal RAJAPAKSA
I am delighted to announce the formation of the Chamber of Marine Industry Sri Lanka (CMISL). As the first Chairman, I am committed to developing our marine industry with the support of our members and international partners. CMISL will serve as a liaison between relevant authorities, foreign institutions, and trade chambers like ICOMIA to drive industrial growth. Our focus includes promoting nautical tourism, boat and shipbuilding, and the offshore sector, supported by a robust regulatory framework in collaboration with the Export Development Board (EDB).
I extend my sincere appreciation to the Chairman of the Boat Building Technology Institute (BTTI) and our dedicated team members for their unwavering support in establishing this chamber.
