2012 ICOMIA/IFBSO Congress to be held in Cape Town, South Africa

The 2012 ICOMIA/IFBSO Congress is to be held in Cape Town, South Africa and will take place between Wednesday 18 – Saturday 21 April 2012. It is hosted by the newly formed Marine Industry of South Africa (MIASA) and the South African Boat Building Export Council (SABBEX).

All Congress meetings and working sessions are scheduled to take place at the Southern Sun Cape Sun Hotel which is located in the centre of the Cape Town CBD, and is complimented by spectacular views over Table Mountain, Robben Island, Table Bay and the mighty Green Point Stadium.

Various committee meetings and working sessions are planned during Congress. On the Friday, the annual ICOMIA/IFBSO Joint Session will take place. This year’s speakers include Michael Lalor of Ernst and Young, giving a talk on the ‘African Market’; Ian Calvert of Instant Grass, discussing ‘Consumer Trends’ and Guy Lundy of Accelerate Cape Town, speaking about ‘Africa and the World Economy’. The 2012 Congress will end with the traditional closing Congress Gala Dinner on Saturday evening. As usual, a programme with activities is offered to the delegates’ partners.
