Do you use paint, glues, sealants, resins, diluents or cleaning products as part of your boat building/repairing business? If so the information contained in this fact sheet could be vital to the way you operate your facility All the products above can contain VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compounds) such as solvent, styrene, ammonia, chlorine and certain amines. October 31st 2005 was the first and October 31st 2007 is the final deadline for the implementation of the SED Solvents Emission Directive. The SED requires European Union countries to pass laws to control VOC emissions from all business operations that use these types of products. To help everyone understand what this will mean for the Boating Industry this fact sheet is a sample of questions and answers to help clarify the implications of this legislation
