Dear Colleagues,

As we are all facing this 'storm' that came unexpectedly and heavily, first of all, I hope that you and your families are all safe and of good health.

Knowing that all our countries are facing the crisis in different levels and with different consequences, I really hope that we can go through this moment with all our strenght and that boating and Marinas are able to overcome the difficulties.

To try and have a clearer vision of what is hapening around the world, I think it will be very usefull if all of you could make a small report about the situation of the Marina business in you country and if there are any specific measures or procedures for visisting yachts or for boating in general. In regards to the comercial activity of the marinas, please include (if you have the information) the percentage of marinas that have had cancelations related to the Corona virus crisis and if the market is facing a clear slowdown in terms of reservations. Also mention if events have been canceled or delayed and until when.

Suggested by Oscar and Idan, IMG/ICOMIA will then work (subject to the approval of the ExCommittee) on a positive statement with the objective of promoting boating as a non mass activity, where you can be on a safe/healthy environment, with a low risk of contamination. We could also include some information regarding any new procedures, or best practices, for visiting yachts.

Information is crucial for our future and lessons will be learned for sure.

Be strong and 'sail safe',

Martinho
