ICOMIA News

Since March, the US has imposed a 25% tariff on steel imports and 10% on aluminium. Rebalancing measures adopted by the European Commission on 22 June have escalated the trade war between Europe and the USA, with profound impacts for the marine industry. ICOMIA is working with EBI and NMMA to promote the de-escalation of the trade war between Europe and the USA.

From 5-8 June 2018, the International Marine Certificate (IMCI) Institute hosted the ICOMIA/IFBSO Congress in Berlin, Germany. Marine Industry Associations from across the world attended the ICOMIA/IFBSO Congress to network, share expertise and attend important committee meetings. On the final day the ICOMIA Committees were elected, including the Executive Committee and ICOMIA President, and we welcomed three new ICOMIA members.

On 6 June, at the IFBSO/ICOMIA Congress, a collaboration agreement was signed between the co-owners of IBEX - NMMA and RAI Amsterdam - and ICOMIA. This partnership aims to raise the international standing of IBEX by encouraging and facilitating increased participation by ICOMIA members as exhibitors, speakers and visitors.
