Update following postponement of WMC 2020 Dubai to 2021:Amongst our Marine Industry Association membership and the ICOMIA Marinas Group, we are issuing an invitation to tender for the hosting of the ICOMIA World Marinas Conference 2023. The leading light in ensuring successful future developments of marina facilities around the globe, ICOMIA World Marina Conference (IWMC) is the key initiative of the ICOMIA Marina Group’s Outreach & Support Programme.  Held biannually, IWMC is aimed at marina owners, operators, developers, consultants, service providers, Government officials, equipment manufacturers, nautical tourism promoters, and port and harbour operators and draws audiences over 350 delegates and speakers from around the globe. The Conferences are highly informative and relevant to global market trends, whilst the extensive networking opportunities are invaluable for on-going business success. The vast array of exhibits offer insight into the very latest in marina product development and technology. In keeping with its global perspective, IWMC has been presented in the following cities:1993 Amsterdam (The Netherlands)1996 Genoa (Italy)1999 Fort Lauderdale (USA)2002 Sydney (Australia)2005 San Diego (USA)2008 Ostend (Belgium)2011 Singapore (Singapore)2014 Istanbul (Turkey)2016 Amsterdam (The Netherlands)2018 Athens (Greece)Upcoming – 2021 Dubai (UAE)Tender RequirementsParties interested in hosting WMC should contact the ICOMIA Secretary General for a copy of the conference MOU setting the relationship between the appointed conference host and ICOMIA as owner of WMC, and due to be signed on successful confirmation as a conference host. Furthermore, it is envisaged to apply the following process to appoint a WMC Host:2020 October 18 – application for tender bids closes. Tenders to be sent to the ICOMIA Secretariat who will bulk circulate all submissions on the IMG intranet November 2020 – tendering parties present their bid at (virtual) IMG meeting. IMG will then make a recommendation to the ICOMIA Executive Committee which will ratify a decision shortly afterwards.The confirmation as WMC host is subject to the conclusion of an agreement between ICOMIA and the appointed host to be signed no later than 28 days following the appointment of the host.Tender bids should be submitted in powerpoint format, limited to 10 slides. Applying hosts will be asked to pitch their bid during a 10-minute slot at the November 2020 IMG meeting. Proposals should include the following information:Information about the applying organisation (name, city and country)Proposed venue and date of eventInitial budget including sponsorship and delegate feesDetail on global and local marketing efforts in promoting WMCA strategy to ensure a broad local and international audience is present, consisting of authorities, marina operators and suppliersIf applicable, proposed conference organiserOutline of support from local, regional and international organisations.
